Too Busy?

Have you ever had one of those days where you’re so busy that before you know it, the day is over and you realize you never spent any time with the Lord?

That’s exactly what happened to Martha. She was busy serving Jesus, but she became so focused on what she was doing for Him that she forgot to simply spend time with Him. Mary, on the other hand, sat at Jesus’ feet and listened. Jesus said she had chosen “that good part.”

Busyness isn’t always a bad thing. We all have responsibilities. But when our schedules become so full that we push Jesus to the side, we’ve let the urgent replace the most important.

Take a few moments today to pause. Open your Bible. Spend a little time with Jesus. The laundry, dishes, and emails can wait—but time with Jesus is never wasted.

Prayer:

Lord, help me not to let the busyness of life distract me from You. Remind me that the most important part of my day is spending time in Your presence. Help me to choose You first. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
